SPECIAL OPERATIONS GARDAI SEIZE COCAINE WORTH €2.5m IN DUBLIN THREE MEN ARRESTED

Three men have been arrested after cocaine worth €2.5 million was seized during a search of three vehicles in Dublin yesterday.

The vehicles were stopped in the Blakes Cross area as part of an operation targeting organised crime and involved officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).

The men, aged 44, 48 and 59, were arrested at the scene and are being held at two different Garda stations.

Detective Chief Superintendent Angela Willis, who is head of Bureau at GNDOCB, said Gardaí are committed to disrupting the activities of "organised criminals supplying drugs to our communities".

ALSO: Drugs worth around €1.24 million have been found in a ditch in Co Laois. Gardaí recovered 62kg of cannabis herb in the ditch on a secondary road along the Carlow-Laois border, as the result of an intelligence-led operation carried out by Gardaí from Arles and Ballylinan supported by the Laois Divisional Drugs Unit.
No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
