IRELAND'S FIRST CORONAVIRUS PATIENT IN DUBLIN HOSPITAL

UPDATED LINKS: The male patient who is the first case of the Covid-19 coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland is being treated in a Dublin Hospital, RTÉ News has confirmed. Contact tracing of those who may have been in close contact with the man is continuing and is likely to be completed within 24 hours. The Department of Health confirmed that the man travelled to Ireland from an affected area in northern Italy.

It is not known how easily the virus spreads from person to person, or if it can spread before symptoms are shown
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre said the work will involve identifying all stages of his journey. It said people who needed to be notified would be contacted and given the necessary advice.
